I think the kitchen is my favorite part of our house so far. I really spent a lot of time including sleepless nights trying to make everything perfect. I went to a kitchen design specialist, but I was not feeling the "wow" factor with the designs. I actually ended up going with the guy the builder usually uses, but I had everything drawn out and tons of pictures of the way I wanted it.
I wanted a pretty kitchen that was also functional. Our house is an open floor plan, so I figured when you walk in our house the kitchen should look a bit like furniture. I like a really clean look. I love white cabinets.
I decided I did not want a microwave above my stove, instead I chose the mantle hood with the hidden ventilation. This was definately a decision I made based on looks. I am glad at least there is function as well.
This part of the cabinetry is supposed to look more like a hutch. I love the glass knobs and cup pulls. I am really happy with the way this turned out.
The molding on the top of the cabinets really makes the space look more finished. This is exactly the look I was trying to achieve. The painter's did not match up the paint to the cabinet very well, so my hubby re-painted the molding to match the cabinets. He took a shelf from this glass cabinet and the came up with a great match at Sherwin Williams.
I really can't think of anything I would change about our kitchen.
