I am Catholic and I will be receiving my ashes today. I always find it challenging to decide what I can give-up for 40 days. I know I am supposed to make a real sacrifice, I mean it is the absolute least I can do for the sacrifices our Lord has made for us. I have decided to give-up my morning coffee. I really depend on it way too much. I am sure I will have a dreaded headache and be a big grouch, but I will try. I tried to give this up last year, but I was weak and decided to revise my sacrifice to one cup a day in order to muddle through my day.
I will also make my best effort to compliment at least one person each day as well.
