I love, love, love this house! I would be very happy to have my home designed to look like this.
I love the mix of feathers with the greenery and festive ribbons. The artwork going up the staircase is a perfect collage of artwork and photography.
Okay, I adore the lavender light fixture. I love to tuck ottomans under console tables to add dimension, texture and extra seating. I like the square wreath as opposed to a round shape.
I like the brass light fixture, the upholstered ottoman, the zebra print rug, the creamy drapes, the artwork above the sofa. I may try to make one of these canvas pieces for my bedroom.
Oh, I just love all of this!! I of course adore the trellis fabric on the dining chairs, the wide horizontal stripe accent wall, the collage of artwork and photography, the glass light fixture. I do like the holiday decor too.{All photos via HGTV Canada, Holiday Home Tour: Designer Meredith Heron}

HGTV: What’s your best advice for decorating for the holidays?
MH: To quote Jonathan Legate, a designer colleague & friend from Nova Scotia, it's always wise to live with what you love. I would extend that to say invest in what you love and you will enjoy it year after year. I think this absolutely applies to holiday decor. I love to bring out pictures of friends and family and put them in frames that line tables or mantels. It's a great way to include your guests into your holiday and make them feel welcome in your home.
Maximize budget by working with the colour scheme you have. Adding mercury glass, silver and gold in combination with each other and mixing in a little fresh cedar adds instant sparkle and holiday to any space and does not have to cost a lot. If you add to this year over year, pretty soon you will have a collection of holiday decor that will be a treat to open each year and bring back great memories of years past.
If space is limited, always decorate a foyer/entrance and a powder room. Your guests will arrive and be treated to a great first impression and everyone visits the powder room at least once -- including Aunty Snoops A Lot...impress them. A little fresh flower arrangement in there can be enough.
Sticking with a monochromatic colour scheme will add extra impact to any space. Decorations that are all one colour but in a range of hues is a great way to make a dramatic statement but not an overly busy one. Layer in faux fur blankets, plaid or cashmere to transform a space into a cozy winter oasis and serving Hot Toddies is a nice touch too!
