To Buffet or Display?

I am fiercely working on the decor for the dining room.  The room is a tad small so I have to decide if I what furniture is going to occupy the space.  I must have a dining room table and chairs, this I know.  I am now contemplating if I want a buffet/sideboard or a china cabinet, or two.

Here are some things that have caught my eye:

China Cabinet
I really love the pattern on the doors and the mirrored back to reflect the light.

Esplanade Buffet
I don't really like seeing the wood grain in this piece but I do like the simple look.

What do you prefer?  What do you have in your dining room?
