Home Tour ~ Melinda and Lee Henry

I am so excited to invite you into the home of Lee & Melinda Henry. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Melinda, because she is one of my best supporters of my watercolor art, as you can see in these beautiful interiors.

My Caribbean Time print is on the left in this gorgeous sunroom. The cobalt blue and bright yellow color combination is one of my favorites!

Their daughter, Laurie, sent me these photos and had a little to say about her parents. "They love St. Lucia and we take a Caribbean cruise every year and add a little more to the collection. The shelf above your little painting has items from my travels in college that I've given them, mostly from Morocco, Italy and China. Everything seems to have a story in there. I love going home. They are pretty amazing people all around."

Lee owns a furniture store (hence the beautiful furniture!) and Melinda used to be a teacher for seventeen years and a gift shop owner/freelance interior designer (without a degree, she just has a knack for it). They live in small town Selmer, Tennessee which is about 90 miles east of Memphis. The landscape original watercolor in this photo was the first piece of art Melinda purchased from me, I believe. See how her stunning frame really shows off the painting? Framing your art can be just as important as the art itself. This beautiful nook looks like a design house on display!

I'm always a fan of the classic blue and white china seen throughout. Another one of my watercolor prints, Mystic River, is seen above this beautiful table display.

The last photos show their custom home painting that I painted for them for Christmas this year. You can see from these photos how to frame the paintings in a pleasing way that shows off the work. Perfection!

Home Tour ~ Cindy Spangler

From the moment you step into Cindy Spangler's home, you feel welcome. The foyer is filled with French-inspired pieces such as an antique table with a marble top, a beautiful crystal sconce, and faux Venetian plaster covering the walls.
C'est Magnifique!
beautiful foyer
The formal dining room is decorated with harlequin painted walls and a painted ceiling in dusty blue with a gold faux finish to coordinate with the gold accents in the room. The vintage crystal chandelier is a beautiful focal point over the table.

Cindy loves her Yorkie, who is represented throughout her home.

In the kitchen, the family gathers around a French Country table. In each chair, there is a needlepoint pillow for each member of the family. ..So adorable!

She recovered the couch and wing chair {which came from her Grandmother} in luxurious fabrics. But, my favorite piece has to be this gorgeous zebra print chair!

Cindy has some beautiful art throughout her home.
This is one of my favorites, located in the posh downstairs powder room.

Her decorated mantle in the family room is shabby-chic and very inviting.

In this room, she has beautiful jewel tones throughout. I love her style and flair with mixing and matching patterned pillows.

Kirsten Nease Designs ~ Home Tour

I am so excited to announce the 1st of many home tours on
Bright, Bold, and Beautiful! I knew I wanted to begin with Kirsten Nease who is not only a fabulous designer in the Richmond area, but also a good friend! She offers full service interior design for customers with residences on the East coast.
Recently, I had the chance to tour her beautiful home. I would say that
her style is Traditional with a European influence. She is very fortunate to have many treasures in her home that have been handed down through the generations. The one of a kind Antler set {from her German ancestors} around the mantle
is a great conversation piece.
Kirsten's home accents change with the seasons. Currently she is displaying her Spring decor in the Foyer, which includes a real Ostrich egg: another treasured heirloom. The Damask wallpaper is a gorgeous backdrop to these lovely pieces.
The home office is my favorite room... Kirsten found a pillow that she loved, and decorated this room around it! From the rich red lacquered walls, fabulous patterned drapes, stylish leopard rug, and colorful accent pillows, this room is a show stopper!
The Dining Room is set for a Spring dinner party. She has an assortment of the old and the new. The Imari plate collection over the sideboard came from her Great Aunt and has such sentimental meaning to her. On the other hand, Kirsten just bought this amazing birdcage which is tres chic!
As I walked around, I realized that Kirsten uses the same color palette throughout her home, which provides a wonderful flow from room to room. As a mother of three, she understands that function and comfort are essential for any active household. Her family room is a perfect example of this concept.
Thank you Kirsten for sharing your talents with us...
You are truly an inspiration to us all!
