Meet the new puppy!
I thought you all might enjoy an introduction to my parent's new puppy, Storm. She's an Australian shepherd - almost 12 weeks old.

The blizzard at Chestnut Creek Farm
Since Maryland has experience record snowfall this year (more than Buffalo, Maine, and all the normal record makers), I thought it warranted some pics. My parent's farm, where I'm living this year, is about 65 acres, located in Westminster. I don't know the official accumulations - but once both blizzards passed through we were around 40".
Poor Remi could only go where we had cleared a path. It meant it was harder for him to run off, though... hehe
A lot of snow had accumulated on one side of our roof, because there were strong winds, you can see at the top of the kitchen window all the snow!
From the top of the lane
Here's the lane after the second round of snow and with all drifts created by the wind. You can see my mom at the very end.
The veggie garden and the chicken coop behind it.
A shot of our road after it was plowed.

A winter wonderland at my parent's farm
I wanted to share with you some beautiful photos my dad took of their farm, Chestnut Creek Farm, in Maryland this weekend. We got several inches of snow on Saturday - and the result was quite pretty!
In the woods beside the back fields.
This is to the side/front of the house
A tree my dad keeps asking me to do a drawing of for him - a shag bark hickory
Remember when Remi was just a little puppy? - now he's a big puppy!
Another view out the front
some little deer, wondering why my parents are up so early
Another view out the back
Pretty no?

Pretty and delicious
More of my days on the farm so far!
My favorite lunch is tomato, mozzarella, and basil on fresh bread. Rosemary focaccia is my fav, but since we didn't have any I just used Italian bread and sprinkled on some rosemary, course-ground salt, and olive oil. The tomato I was privileged enough to pick just a few minutes prior from my parent's garden. Above was yesterday's lunch.
This photo was inspired by Polly Wreford's STUNNING photo. My mom has a large and ever growing collection of glass bottles that we find in the woods behind one of the soybean fields. Whenever I'm walking back there I pick up a few and bring them back up to the house. They make great and interesting bud vases, and the flower gardens are bursting with zinnias which make for pretty arrangements.
Polly's work of art. You can see more of her work here.
And a close up of my mom's gorgeous zinnias.
