Chic and glamorous - but not too over the top. A designers portfolio

I get tons of emails introducing the work of designers, but I am super glad I took the time to check out Rachel Reider's portfolio. Her work is chic and glamorous, but it's not so over the top that it's impossible to believe anyone lives there. I also like her use of neutrals paired with bright accents.

I normally don't feature children's rooms, but I really liked this one

*swoon* great staircase and entry

I ADORE this dining room. The cozy arrangement, the elegant fireplace

What do you think?

A stunning modern makeover for a victorian home

LivingEtc. is one of my favorite decorating magazines - most of their homes have a clean, modern-retro look, while still looking homey and lived in. This actresses home is no exception. Her renovation story is interesting and can be read here.

stunning, no?

*hint* she keeps her cream carpets spotless by having them professionally cleaned once every four months.

Bright and Pretty Summer Bathrooms

Finally! It is getting nice and hot outside. I love hot weather - and I also love a nice cool shower after being outside in the heat and humidity. With so much time "freshening up" in the bathroom, I love mine to look bright and uplifting.

I adore this palette - a nice way to wake up.

I think that white in combination with bright pops of color is the ticket to a fresh summery bathroom.

Okay - so not particularly bright - but check out this shower!!! It's like your own private Mediterranean cave!

I can't wait to have a bathroom large enough to use real furniture in the bathroom.

shiny white tile and crisp blue stripes always says "clean" to me.

A light-filled, inspirational apartment - and it's real! No designer, no professional photographer!

I was checking out the new Style Room (still in Beta), and discovered this lovely, lovely flat in Oxford. It's rented, and decorated on the cheap (amen for Ikea), but that doesn't take away from it's undeniable charm!

My fav. look - a predominately white foundation with bright accents...

Love the lucite side table..

What a lovely sunny spot to work

Plants are the best aren't they? Too bad I live ground level and get no light!

This place is pretty small looking I'm guessing, based on the multi-purpose dining room/home office - but it's pulled off really well!

look guys...real homes have power chords...who'd a thunk?
