Still a favorite - lovely white interiors

white interiors - I still love them, I think I always will. What's unique about these is they aren't cool like most white interiors, but still warm and cozy. Mostly because warm accents are brought in by wood trim and accents.

Enjoy!
LOVE all the texture on the bed - that's how to make monochrome work

If that desk were a little bigger this office would be perfect for me!

2 very different, but beautiful houses. Which do you prefer?

Incase you haven't noticed, I've been loving Country Living Mag. lately. Don't be fooled, it's not all chintzy florals and rooster collections, they have a great grasp on what it means as a lifestyle. It can be modern, retro, or casual, and it's not your grandma's "country." Anyway, in their Feb. issues they featured two houses, both very different, and both worth sharing.

House 1 - simple with a Scandinavian design smarts

I like the home office/sewing room in the photo above.

Home 2 showcases great antique finds - some splurges, some bargains.

Don't worry, the zebra skin is faux.

So, which home is more you!?

Country conversions

pretty pretty pretty! It's hump day and I needed a little lift to help me over. These are mostly lofts and/or converted barns. So peaceful.

I adore this bedroom - what a gorgeous ceiling! I also never realized how pretty yellow bedding can be. Anybody have yellow bedding?

I need to find out who painted that cloudscape above the tub!

This kitchen is a really successful blend of modern and country. It's warm and inviting - and still sleek and clean.

Living Rustic

How rustic could you go with your decor? Or how rustic have you gone? Growing up on a farm I like rustic - though I prefer "lighter" rustic - not too much dark wood paneling and taxidermy. I would always pick an old house with a story over a new house - hands down. Just not the maintenance costs.

This home office looks so quiet and serene!

Embracing natural patinas is surely a part of rustic living

Look at this lovely garden room!

...a slightly cleaner "rustic"

Bright and beautiful rooms to lighten up a gloomy day

I tried to post this yesterday, but for some reason or another I wasn't able to upload images!

I don't know about you guys, but over here in the states the east coast is getting pretty soggy. So I spent most of my morning seeking out sunny rooms while my shoes dry on the radiator.

I'm liking vertical shelves more and more.

I also like the look of rustic wood furniture contrasting with porcelin in the bathroom.
