A prelude to Spring

I feel like every year I'm ready for spring a little bit sooner. This year is no exception. I can't remember the last time the sky was blue. Hopefully these pictures can help us remember what spring looks like.

Beautiful photos from the talented Lara Rossignol. Check out her blog, Piewacket

So beautiful - green!

Isn't that chandelier with the greenery great? It'd be a great idea for a wedding outdoors in a tent or barn.

A historic country home done up in a modern way

I'm writing you guys from Chicago today, where I'm visiting a friend before heading over to Spain to visit my boyfriend for a month. I saw this house in Elle Decor and thought it was really nice - and worth a share. What do you think?

Looovvee those weathered leathered chairs, the oversize ottoman/coffee table, and the hydrangea arrangement.

I would never think to paint my bedroom such a dark brown, but it's actually looks quite relaxing.

A great spring project that's super easy and pretty!

For this great idea (and gorgeous photos), I thank Elizabeth Goodman, creator of the very pretty "To Be Charmed" blog.

The project's star component is Japanese Washi tape, which is like a decorative masking tape. The tape is a fabric-like masking tape that comes in dozens of patterns, colors, and widths.

Some of these vases she's created are actually paper cups!
Read her post for all the how-to details -

Some pretty spring flowers on my desk would really brighten my day! (hint to boyfriend)

A really simple, gorgeous way to decorate for Spring

I know ...Spring? Who am I kidding? It's snowing outside right now as I'm typing. Maybe one day Spring will come, and when it does, you should try this really cute idea. It's from Southern Living Feb. 2010, which revamped their look a few months ago, and I'm really liking all the issues so far!

These two photos are so pretty. If you have woods or trees on your property you could even create your own bouquets.

Click on the image above for a larger version with the names of the flowers. From top left: star magnolia, saucer magnolia, yoshino flowering cherry, flowering quince, forsythia, and eastern redbud (You can get these giant glass vases at vivaterra)

This is a good idea- use strands of grapevine to support the stems. I like the look
