Crisp and Clean dining...

I totally fell for these images when the sweet Angela sent them my way for some kitchen nook inspiration!  So clean and really just perfect.  I am pretty sure I would loose my voice from yelling at the kids not to get anything dirty if I took this road, but it would look great for a few days!

Stay tuned for the design ideas for Angela's home coming next week...

Also, this week starting tomorrow I have some wonderful guest posts coming up!

Settees on my mind...

I spent most of the day yesterday searching out the perfect fabric for my vintage settee that needs recovering... a warm dark grey brown velvet... perfection!

I am so in love with settees right now.

Once I get it all done I will have to share!

Washed out walls

Love Love the feeling of this image..
of course it has my dishes and the color of the room is to die for...

I have been busy cleaning out around here and one thing that had to be handled was the piles and piles of magazines.  I have pulled out so many wonderful images, I cannot wait to start sharing them with you!
Happy February!

Little grey settee

I simply adore this settee.. I have a piece that I need to have redone (totally different shape) and I have been thinking of a dark grey mohair but then I also need a crisp white slipcover..

You won't believe where these beautiful rooms are from!

I was shocked - really - when I opened up the most recent issue of the Ballard Designs catalog. They've really upped the ante on their styling. It's relaxed and glamorous at the same time. (Click on each image for a larger view)

Love cream and light blue

I like the Moroccan style rug in the picture above. They have it in a couple other colors as well.

I like their home office setups

So what do you think?

TIps for creating a superbly glamorous dressing room

Jane, a Decorology reader, wrote me asking for inspiration for a 9x9 room she wants to turn into a "fit for a star dressing room." So I've done my best to compile some super glamorous dressing rooms. I've also found a few "glam dressing room" essentials and where to find them. Even if you don't have a dressing room, I hope you enjoy this eye candy!

One of my favorite dressing rooms - the dressing room of JCrew Jenna Lyons as seen in Domino.

Another one I like -I guess I really like the windows with natural light, which is good for makeup.

I think the mornings would be easier to face with a beautiful wall of beautiful shoes.

A dressing room is a great place to try out that bold wallpaper or paint color you've been eyeing as it's a more private, smaller space.

A super eclectic dressing room.

I adore this shot - a perfect vision of glamour.

Another one of my faves.

Here are some items I would use to create a starlet dressing room.

Top left: A staple of any glam interior - a chaise or settee. This one is from Montauk sofa.
Top right: Chandelier, like this one from Graham and Greene
Center: A tufted ottoman, this one is from Serena and Lily
Bottom left: A mirrored vanity is quintessential glam. This one is from Graham and Greene
Bottom right: A pretty little table like this one from Oomph Online

Awesome furniture sale at Rue La La - great rugs!

Rue La La doesn't often have furniture/home decor sales, so I thought I had to share this one with you, as it has some good steals in it. The sale features Safavieh furnishing, and best of all, some really glam rugs. If you like what you see - click on the following link to log in to Rue La La, or if you aren't a member , sign up for free and get great discounts. Stuff sells out fast!

Click here to shop - http://www.ruelala.com/invite/decorology

I love this blue rug - reminds me of the rugs in Morocco. The rug prices vary, this one, at 3'9" by 5'9", is $129

The settee's on sale for $1,499

This set of tables is $139

From my library: Speed Decorating by Jill Vegas

I really like the tips in "Speed Decorating: A Pro Stager's Tips And Trade Secrets For A Fabulous Home In A Week Or Less," and the pictures are mighty cute too!

Two lovely entryways - check out the wood "bottles" to the right of the red secretary.

Five Musts For A Great-Looking Entry

1. Clutter-free surfaces. Get rid of boxes, shoes, anything that doesn't belong in the space.

2. Brilliant light. Replace any burned-out or too-dim bulbs. Clean and polish light fixtures.

3. A nice-looking floor. Vacuum and mop the floor. Replace the doormat if it's dingy. If the floor's condition is really bad, buy some floor polish and buff out scratches, or buy some carpet tiles (FLOR brand is an example) and make a runner to hide them.

4. Clean walls. Get rid of scuff marks (a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is great for this), or touch up the paint in spots to hide them. If the walls are in really bad shape, repaint.

I really like how the side of this settee is just a bare wood.

What a dreamy reading nook!

A sweet little writing area in the bedroom

I love this bathroom! "A bathroom adorned with unique accessories and artwork feels comfy. Here, botanical prints, a fern in a simple vase, and a vintage map makes this room memorable."

Anyway, I'm sure you can see why Speed Decorating is a fav. new addition to my humble library!
