St. Lucia home

Maybe because it's been raining for months (it is Seattle after all!) and we haven't seen much of the sun lately or simply because I LOVE vacationing, but I've been searching for alluring homes in tropical locales.  This enchanting home can be found on the island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean.  The hilly site affords superb views of the sea and the home is appropriately casual yet elegant and stylish.  After beholding these images, I'm sure you'll be packing your bags!

Open walkways, guarded by wooden pillars and handrails, curve around the site, allowing cooling sea breezes to penetrate the rooms.  The walkway beckons to be explored.

Mindful of the need for simplicity, the decor was kept as natural and maintenance free as possible.

The only color to be seen, apart from the natural wood tones of the bedsteads and some carved Asian furniture, is a riot of yellow and blue tiling in the bathroom, shiny copper pans in the kitchen and blue and white tablesettings.

The open beamed ceilings look appropriately casual and almost everything is white, including  built-in seating and most of the furniture.  White fabrics have been used for cushions and on the beds contributing to the spacious airy feel.

Crisp white furniture adorns the outside patio.

Lush plants bring the outside in and blur the boundary between inside and out.

Ready to escape to a faraway destination?  Hopefully you can find someplace as chic and enticing as this one!
