A GORGEOUS Barcelona apartment you don't want to miss

While searching Apartment Therapy for some eye candy the other night I fell in love with the 2010 Small Cool International Winner. This apartment is small on square feet but big on beauty.

I ADORE this beautiful reading room. Plenty of books, a big comfy couch, what else do you need?

For small bedrooms a bed like this one with under bed storage is the best use of space

So pretty - love the lighting!

Do you agree?

Tiny Apartment in France

This 18 square m. apartment in France was designed for a university student. It has many ideas to make the most of its small space. I think it has more storage room than I have in my whole house!

First let's have a look at the floor plan:

Le plan de l'appartement
Thanks to a skylight (2) there's plenty of natural light in the entryway. Separating the kitchen and dining area (5) from the shower and toilet area (3) there is the bed (4) right on top of a storage unit which opens to both sides and a small desk at the end.

A bookcase lines one of the walls in the entryway.

Dining area right by the window.

Place à l'essentiel dans la cuisine
Small fridge under the countertop.

Le bloc côté cuisine
Storage room right under the bed. Household cleaning supplies, a vacuum and bulky suitcases are stored here.

Home Renovation: Coat Closet

I hope you are ready for many home renovation posts,
because we have officially begun!
Even small spaces can be organized. Today, we added three cubbies to our downstairs coat closet to make room for "things" that usually end up on the floor.
1st step: De-clutter! In your small space, there is no room for unused items. After adding the cubbies, place the most important items on the top shelves. Add hooks on both sides of the walls for scarves, and smaller jackets you wear every day.
Whew... we are on our way!

Amazing Treehouses I'd actually live in

Okay, so maybe I wouldn't live in all of these, but definitely most of them. The rest are just amazing to look at. With all the leaves budding on the trees I've been looking up a lot, and it would be oh so nice to just wake up in the tree tops!

ok, so not livable - but very cool regardless

And last, but not least, this treehouse is very dear to my heart. My grandfather built this for my sisters and I on our farm on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland . We loved it and I'm happy to see it still stands, though I'm not sure if the current owners use it.

Can you pick? 3 pretty apartments up for a prize...

Skona Hem holds a monthly contest where readers can vote on the most inspiring homes of other readers... I decided to compile some of the entries here to see what you guys thought!

House A: bright, open, and airy

House B: comfy, feminine, and cheerful

House C: luxurious, textural, elegant:

I'm so glad purple has been getting the love it deserved recently!

I'm leaning towards B because it feels a little warmer to me, and more realistic to maintain. I'm open to persuasion though!
