A Black-Tie Affair

No, I am not talking about an event that I went to.  I am talking about my guest bathroom...I am sure that would be your second guess.  We had a little party on Saturday night and having guests motivates me to make the house look nice.

Here is a crappy "before" photo of the bathroom...actually, all before photos should be crappy, so this is perfect and do not read too much into the "crappy" phrase because I am talking about a bathroom.  I just mean the photographer (I may have to fire her) did not get a sharp photo.

The bathroom is blah. Nothing really going on in here as far as style goes. I have a plain, white shower curtain and that is about all.

I bought another curtain to match the existing one from Target and some quilt binding (another crappy photo). I just ironed this trim onto each curtain.

I added a pretty orchid from the grocery, a platter that I turned into a tray from TJMaxx and my all time favorite Seda Candle in Japanese Quince.

Done.

Winter Blues

I so ready for Spring.  I know this is a beautiful view of the snow and trees in our backyard, but I am feeling the blues of being couped up in the house.  I yearn for green grass and warm breezes.

I decided to go buy myself something to remind me of the warm weather to come...

I know this is a bit loud, but I have a new pair of pink heels that need a dress.  I found this Lilly Pulitzer dress at TJMaxx.  Something about it made me smile, so it was sold.

I also found this dress at TJ's.  I think this will be cute with my canary yellow heels.
I found some new sheets at J.C.Penney's for the guest bedroom.  I think the pattern is pretty cool, I know these are not Rubie Green linens, but for $20, I thought they were close enough.

I need a bedside table and a reading chair to go by the window.  I would like the chair to have an upholstered ottoman.  I think it would be cool to have a pillow or slipcover for the ottoman in the same fabric as the sheets.  I also think this room could use a bench or something at the foot of the bed.  Any suggestions?
I actually hung a picture in the guest bath during the blizzard. I am not sure why I bought this picture, we are not big equestrians.  I just figure it is nice to have something to look at.

Have a great Thursday!
