Today I'd like to show you a simple but inviting cottage in Oceania del Polonio, Uruguay. Pops of colour on an all white background in every room. A bright and cheerful retreat for a summer holiday.

Summer House in Uruguay

Today we'll visit an interesting home in Uruguay. Argentines Federico Bonomi and Cynthia Kern purchased this 1850's original farmhouse in Uruguay with the idea of turning it into a hotel. When the restoration was over they decided to keep it as their own second home. It is located in Carmelo which is a short distance from the border with Argentina. Well out of the ordinary, they left some of the walls completely bare and raw and combined antique and rustic furniture, floral prints an whimsical details in every room.

Guesthouse in Uruguay

Good morning readers! Thanks for all your lovely comments left yesterday for my blog's birthday.

So, I begin my new blogging year by taking you to Uruguay to have a look at an oceanfront guest house called Posada del Faro which means "Lighthouse Guesthouse". No need to explain its name. The owners, García Arocena, first appointed architect Eduardo Strauch, and then Diego Montero to design this Mediterranean style house. A lovely place to spend a relaxing holiday.

Rural Property in Uruguay

Today I'd like to show you this property called Finca Narbona in Carmelo, Uruguay. It dates back to the first half of the 18th Century. Hope you like it!








The sign over the door reads "Panadería" which means Bakery.

An oh so pretty and sweet house with eclectic flair in Uruguay

I found this little gem on Elle Deco (Spanish Elle Decor). They described it well by calling it a blend of Provence and Tuscany, but in the countryside of Uruguay. I really like all of the rustic elements of the home, like the raw wood floors and the stone walls. It is kept light and airy by upholstery and furniture in paler woods, soft corners, and cheery pastels.



I love the mix of the wood and stone next to such a luxurious settee!
